Between Daily Life, Investing, and Learning

This is the first post on this blog, and also a brief introduction to what I hope to record here.

The blog will revolve around three subjects that may appear separate but are closely connected: daily life, investing, and learning.

Everyday life is made up of small, easily overlooked moments—a meal, a walk, a conversation, or a quiet evening when the world seems to slow down. These moments rarely feel significant while they are happening, yet they often become valuable clues for understanding ourselves. I do not write them down because every day deserves a grand commemoration. I write because keeping a record helps me notice how time passes and how I gradually change with it.

Investing is another way of observing time.

Markets move every day. Prices, emotions, and narratives rise and fall continuously. The real challenge may not be finding an attractive number, but remaining patient amid information, judgment, and uncertainty. Investing repeatedly leads me back to a few fundamental questions: What constitutes real value? Which conclusions are grounded in evidence, and which are driven by emotion? How much risk should we accept when the future cannot be predicted, and how much room should we leave for being wrong?

For that reason, my notes on investing will not focus solely on decisions to buy or sell. I would rather document how a judgment was formed—the information available at the time, the assumptions I made, the risks I overlooked, and the mistakes that became visible afterward. Markets may reward correct decisions, but reviewing mistakes honestly can be even more valuable over the long run.

Learning is what connects daily life with investing.

A book, an essay, a new technology, or even a failed attempt can change the way we understand a problem. As I gain more experience, I increasingly see learning not as the accumulation of facts, but as the continual revision of our mental models: admitting what we do not know, recognizing the limits of old beliefs, and being willing to begin again.

This blog is not intended to provide definitive answers. I see it more as a public notebook—a place for observations, unfinished ideas, and judgments worth revisiting later. Some posts may be practical and specific, while others may simply be reflections. Certain ideas will endure; others will inevitably be overturned by new experiences.

If these notes offer you a useful perspective, that would be wonderful. Even if they do not, they will at least preserve an honest record of how I lived, thought, and tried to understand a changing world at a particular moment in time.

Life asks us to pay attention. Investing asks us to be patient. Learning asks us to remain open.

This is where the record begins.
